KEVIN POOL

When I was younger, I had aspirations to become an incredible athlete.
People like Carl Lewis and Michael Johnson were my heroes.  I began running in elementary school and joined the cross country team in junior high, but stopped soon after that to pursue academics.  It wasn’t until 13 years later when I was asked to join one of my friends on a run that I remembered how much I enjoyed the challenges and rewards of running.  Being a very competitive person, I began to set personal goals and in less than a year, I was self-training for my first marathon.  I qualified for Boston with that first marathon in Austin, and realized that I could have much more potential in me.  I found myself at crossroads after this great finish at a first marathon.  I knew I needed discipline, science, and experience if I were to take my physical abilities any further.  I searched for months to find the right coach and finally found what I was looking for in Alexander’s approach.  Now, with a new set of lofty goals, I have sought out Alexander’s expertise to help take my training and racing to the next level.

Though my current focus is marathoning, my long term goals do include ultra-marathons and triathlons.  Having an experienced coach will undoubtedly be invaluable while I transition to training for these races.
