Coach Alexander Hutchison started Highlander Triathlon in 2005.  An experienced triathlete himself, Hutchison combines enthusiasm, commitment, and a proven track record with detailed scientific knowledge. He holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Houston.  He is currently a post-doctoral fellow in immunology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.  His academic training enables him to apply scientific principles in preparing athletes for the challenge of Triathlon.

The science of training is a very important component in any successful training plan; however, science alone will not produce good results in an athletic event.  Coach Hutchison brings many years of professional coaching experience at the high school, club, and collegiate levels.  He is familiar with the many subtleties of motivating each individual athlete to achieve their highest potential.
